This page includes information about the performance of the United States National Basketball Team.
Here you have information about the performance of the USA Basketball team in the 2008 Olympic Games, including roster, all the games played, standings and some basic stats.
A group of young superstars led by veterans Kobe Bryant and Jason Kidd and coached by Mike Krzyzewski repositioned the United States as the best National Team in the world, condition lost in the 2002 World Championships played in Indianapolis. The USA Team took to Beijing an immense collection of talent and a lot of athleticism that compensated for the lack of size in the frontcourt. What also distinguished this team from previous versions was the knowlege and respect for their rivals. All this factors made that with the only exception of the final game where they had to fight until the final minutes to defeat Spain, the team had little opposition through the tournament.
